Planning a new project
Mood:  special

During today's class we started to plan our new team project.  We elected a Chairperson by voting as a group, we elected Michael Toomer.  As a team we identified several ideas for our tem enterprise projects our final two choices were a Valentines Disco and a Barn Dance (for the end of the year).  Michael gave us all jobs to do as part of the planning stages of our Valentines disco and we had to get organised for next week to get these jobs done.  One of our jobs was to go along to meet with the secretary of the Liberal Club to discuss hiring there venue for our disco and the other job was to go to the material bank to collect materials to make decorations for the venue for a Valentine theme.

Students comments at the end of the first planning session

Sanam - I found todays class hard because you have to organise things and thats difficult.

Denise - I found it easy today because i had only one job to do.

Kerry - I found it tiring because we had to plan alot, although there is a team effort it was easier when you were given only one job to do.

Adam - Hard because we had to think of loads of things to do.

Beverly - I thought it was hard because i did not always understand what i had to do, i should ask Michael to explain.

Kevin - I found it hard because i had to do some writing and i had to make decissions, which i found hard.

Micael - I thought it was good, i liked giving out jobs to do and i think i controlled the group well.  I don't think i was too bossy, we worked as a team.

Our First Project
Mood:  happy

Christmas Fayre

For our first team enterprise project we worked with the other team enterprise teams in the department to produce handmade crafts and knick-knacks for our CHRISTMAS FAYRE.  We decided through a vote to call ourselves Dotty Designs.  This name was then adopted by the whole team enterprise area as a means of marketing the goods we will be making and selling.

The Fayre was held on Thursday the 22nd November and it was a real success, everyone commented on the high quality of goods we produced.  We sold out of most of the things we made.

We are still awaiting some accounts, but we estimate that we made approx £165.00 profit.

Our Christmas Fayre Stands, we were veery busy with customers all day

We sold handmade stockings, tree decorations. memo & pin boards, Mince pies, wreaths, jewellery and christmas cards.  The Fayre was very successful and we had a lot of compliments about the high quality of products made.

Here are some of the other items the students made.

Team Enterprise - Callies team
Mood:  mischievious

We are a group of students who come to Highbury College.  One of the subjects that we are doing this year is team enterprise.

Team Enterprise is a unique opportunity for students with a range of learning support requirements to share and succeed in an activity which allows them to take responsibility for the management, production, sales, marketing and financial roles of running a real event
